The Last Presidential Debate
Yesterday’s last presidential debate Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain referred to the common person as Joe. The question was should Joe be worried about taxes and his business.
Obama replied that, “It's not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success too. My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's going to be good for everybody . . .. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."
Obama wants to make sure that everyone has an opportunity and even if they don’t vote for him once he is president he will help everyone in the country. McCain believes that Obama’s plan will not work because it will increase taxes among people and no one wants to pay higher taxes including himself. Obama’s goal as president is cut 95% of peoples taxes once the economy is stable.
Through out the debate Senator John McCain kept referring to Joe as “my old buddy”. It wasn’t clear how McCain was willing to relate to the common person but there was a lot of confidence behind his talk but no action. McCain constantly avoid the questions and went around it. He seem to constantly find the flaw in Obama’s plans and he never seem to state his own opinions or state what he believed in. McCain was the Tap dancer, dancing around Obama.
